What is industrial screen printing?
The technology that makes possible what no other can
Screen printing is a printing process that transfers ink through a mesh stretched over a frame, laying down much thicker ink layers than any other technology. This apparently technical characteristic opens the door to effects impossible with digital or flexographic printing: tactile three-dimensional relief, raised Braille, maximum intensity fluorescent inks, and opaque colours on dark backgrounds.
At Euroetiquetas, we are recognised specialists in screen printing for wine, luxury cosmetics, and pharmaceutical labels. We have specific machinery that integrates screen printing, three foiling, and hot stamping in a single production line.
Unique capabilities
What only screen printing can do
There are effects and finishes that are physically impossible with digital or flexographic printing. If your project requires any of these, screen printing is your only option.
Tactile screen printing
Thick ink layers that create a palpable three-dimensional effect. It can be seen and touched. Impossible to achieve with digital or flexography due to the thin layer of ink they deposit.
Mandatory pharmaceutical Braille
Raised dots standardised according to UNE-EN ISO 11548. Mandatory on medicinal products for human use according to Directive 2001/83/EC. Only screen printing produces Braille embossing with regulatory heights.
Fluorescent inks of maximum intensity
Fluorescent screen printing inks deposit a much thicker layer, achieving a luminosity and colour intensity that digital printing cannot match or approximate.
Total opaqueness on dark funds
Printing of white and light colours on metallised, black or dark-coloured substrates with perfect opacity. The thick layer of screen printing ink completely covers the background without showing through.
Inline hot stamping with screen printing
Our integrated machine combines screen printing with 3 foils and hot stamping in a single pass. The result is a label with embossing, colour and metallisation applied in a continuous line without additional processes.
Pantone direct ink
Screen printing uses direct ink specifically formulated for each Pantone, with no process colour mixing. Colour fidelity is absolute: impossible to match with digital CMYK or 4-colour flexo.
Do you need Relief, Braille or hot stamping On your label? Screen printing is your solution.
Special finishes available in screen printing
Each screen-printing finish has unique properties that make it irreplaceable in certain applications. They can be combined with each other and with other technologies to create truly unique labels.
Hot Stamping
Metallic foils, in gold, silver, colours or holographic, transferred by heat and pressure. The finish with the greatest visual impact for high-end perfumery and wines.
Screen printing (3D effect)
Thick layers of ink that create a visible and palpable three-dimensional volume on logos, text, and illustrations. Unique to screen printing.
Dry relief (debossing/embossing)
Debossed or embossed without additional ink. Minimalist and elegant effect widely used in perfumery and cosmetics for a sober and exclusive image.
Standardised pharmaceutical braille
Mandatory for human medicinal products. Manufacturing point height and diameter verified in production.
Special and fluorescent inks
High-intensity fluorescent inks, metallic inks with a mirror effect, thermochromic inks that change colour with temperature, and phosphorescent inks that glow in the dark.
High-thickness UV varnish
A thick layer of varnish that creates a three-dimensional glossy effect on specific areas of the design. More volume and depth than flexographic UV varnish.
The most popular finish combinations in screen printing
Screen printing reaches its full potential when combined with other technologies and finishes. These are the combinations our clients request the most.
Gran Reserva wine
Fedrigoni laid paper + 2-colour screen printing + 3 simultaneous foils (gold, silver and holographic) + security seal. The most in-demand combination for high-end wineries.
Luxury perfume
Silver metallised paper + opaque white screen printing + black hot stamping + dry embossing on the logo. Jewellery effect on the perfume bottle.
Medicine with Braille
Digital printing or flexo for the label body + screen printing for standard Braille. A combination that optimises costs while maintaining mandatory compliance.
Limited edition liqueur
Textured black paper + screen printing with metallic inks + gold hot stamping + raised edition number. Collector's label for artisanal spirits.
Artisan olive oil
Cream laid paper + 1-colour Pantone screen print + copper hot stamping + embossed denomination. Premium artisanal image for producer's extra virgin olive oil.
Cosmetic safety
Digital or flexo base + screen printing with invisible UV security ink on the back. Authenticity verifiable under ultraviolet light to combat counterfeit products.
